H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

two different issues

the people who made it probably deserved but what followed then is pure nepotism,

I am a division controller in my org... and have about 10 people direct and 15 indirect who report to me.... and I only hired one or two Pakistanis the rest were all different nationalities including indians over decades.

why?

I follow merit based hiring procedures.

go figure

you people should be ashamed of your selves... this bad reputation of yours is spreading globally ...
actions have consequences.

Personally, after reading the article, I've no issue with the planned rule reversal. The critics are using false narratives to keep it in place.

Visa's like H1B should be temporary if required such that companies can train up local resources. Giving the ability to bring over spouses and given them working rights is inappropriate. It needs to be reversed for certain, and we need something similar in the UK aswell.

Am in full agreement. Some of what I've seen over the years has been appalling. Expansion of the rule to allow spouses of H-1Bs to work as well simply compounds the problem. And yes, I've seen examples of that too.
