Corporations need to stop skirting around paying proper salaries to people. The Indian tech boom was driven by the thirst for bringing down costs.
Trump is coming down on that, as any sensible leader should do.

Is the selection process meant to accommodate everyone on the planet?

For starters, the selection process is not always intended to hire the best candidate, as we define it.

If I am hiring for a job in Des Moines, Iowa, I will be biased towards someone with roots in Iowa.

If someone has Indians in their group and has good experience with them, they are more likely to hire an Indian over a Pakistani with everything else equal

So an h1b Indian middle manager, who has only really had "experience" of fellow Indians, will hire a bunch of h1b Indians. That same individual already benefited, quite cynically, from a western quota system designed to enhance ethnic minority employment.

Yes, be proud of the corruption. Embrace it.

In reality of course, the errors all stem from poor policy in these western countries. You are only doing what comes naturally.
