To clarify, it's not a one-time $100,000 fee; it's $100,000 every year for three years or an upfront $300,000.

This is akin to launching a nuke; the ramifications wouldn't just be tech, but also rural doctors who come on H1Bs, too.

"He noted that the payment structure is still under discussion with the Department of Homeland Security, in terms of “whether we’re going to charge the $300,000 up front or $100,000 a year for the three years.”

Politically, Trump threw a curveball for the Democrats; if they try to remove these conditions, and they win the elections, it can cause them issues. I do see that more youth might move towards Republicans as they feel he's working to secure their future work environment.

In the last forum, I said that the U.S. is now Trump's America going forward.

Like I said earlier, most, if not all, of the proclamation is likely to be struck down by courts. Looks like the administration is trying to save face by voluntarily walking back the most egregious parts. In my opinion, even the fee on new applicants will be set aside. That can only be imposed by Congress amending the law.

Are corporates even lobbying against this as of now?
