Globally divergence on Gaza, local national divergent from other minorities.
Indians majority blatantly sided with Israel, especially Gujarat, UP and Central India, due to Muslim hatred.
Not so much in south India

They didn't realise that minority rights were getting violated by israel backed by extremists in the US. However, all minorities share the common threat, not being subjugated by a majority.

Nonetheless, what I was saying is that it will not stop at H1-B. Trump will do everything to appease his MAGA fan base. Indians should 'repent' and try to lead/unite/participate with all communities.

And that's completely their own conscious purposeful choice

Which is why you will find other minorities against Indians on this issue

You would not ally with your enemy simple as that

And by the way if you can so quickly change your principles when it suits you also don't want to be too strongly associated with these guys

Hope the following will finally convince people to stop their premature celebrations :

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted on X clarifying some details including that it would not be an annual fee, just a one-off.

She wrote: "Those who already hold H-1B visas and are currently outside of the country right now will not be charged $100,000 to re-enter.

"H-1B visa holders can leave and re-enter the country to the same extent as they normally would."

She added that the new fee would only apply to "new visas, not renewals, and not current visa holders".

@Master Chief

UK, Arabs etc are still happy to do bhangra and yoga at the arrivals lounge.

My dear distant cousin from the western shores- Ask yourself why. Especially the Arabs. Why are they happy?

Regards
Oh bhai....not this again.

Undercutting one's rivals in terms of wages and benefits works wonders for any executive board. Wonders!

Most posters are posting with an aim to troll and are in celebration mode. This Tweet by Karoline came quite some time back and removed most of the immediate doubts. It also cleared that 600K expats on H1B wouldn’t be impacted. That’s a big relief.
Fresh graduates and post graduates would be the only casualty at this moment.
Trump can’t even remove 600K expats even if he wants to. He has to find a replacement. Do they even have so many people with required qualifications and also jobless?
American corporations are also not in the business for charity but make money. Wherever possible, they would outsource jobs overseas. Not only India but may other dynamic third world countries would benefit from that. Nations ready to setup GCCs would be big beneficiaries.

Few nations cheering at the loss of jobs to Indians rather than trying to gain from the situation would never learn.

I hope you stop selectively posting it's trolling

This was acknowledged yesterday evening as the clarification came out

I don't see anyone celebrating exactly

That being said, even the rule as it is represents a medium to long term demise of these consultancies.

But let's see in 12 months time, if you still think the reputation of the skilled Indian worker has not been pierced then please have this debate with the Americans

Hopefully, India also learns some lessons and provides the environment and incentives to retain the best talent in India.

I hope India can have its own Nvidia, Google and Meta one day , just like the Chinese who have had reasonable success in building world-class tech companies.

Is it not incredible that so far they don't have anything in the same universe?

If a direct pipeline of all the knowledge theory and human resource from silicon valley to India for three decades cannot help I'm kind of wondering how it ever can?

There are enough guys on celebration mode. Not you but majority. I don’t need to point it out.

H1B wasn’t cast in stone that it can’t be undone. Largest community affected by it is Indians. Those who exploited the systems would learn a tough lesson.
All expats being kicked out is inconceivable.
Go to any US hospital and it would be clear why.
Every difficult situation throws open opportunities for those who are willing to exploit it.
So the story isn’t finished yet. Who gains and who looses would be known in some time.
