The point is that very simple.

Pakistan missed the opportunity - you can make unlimited claims anyway.

A few holes in indian bases back by sats images, would be preety much fine.

Like claim was Brahmos facility was destroyed, but ended with claim on paper.

most of the indian radar 'kills' ended the same.

it was pretty clear pak deployed the lower tier of systems vs indians deploying their upper tiers.

did u see any cruise missiles? any fatah 2's? any kagems? etc etc.

My understanding is that the IAF changed over it’s assessment of cost per aircraft towards more practical one that included many other services as well as creation of facilities. It is well known that these can cost a lot of money. That is the reason that Rafale cost appears to be so high.

I assume, that could be the case with LCA too.

I am not even concerned about $73 million anymore. I am ready to say - take 10 million more, but pleeeeease deliver the jets.
The best part is that HAL might take those extra 10 millions and still not deliver. 😂

I guess there was more to it than what is being claimed.
There were failures at many levels that caused that fiasco.

but the big issue is really what this deal includes, because if wpns and other bits are included its reasonable, if not, it does seem a bit steep, but then again it should drop with further prod batches.

Just for comparison tho, PAF paid less for J-10c's including the same facilities, but also weapons, sensors, ew pods etc

Pak and Chinese relations are of a completely different nature. A lot can be done under such strategic relations.

For LCA details aren’t available but, that appears to be the case.

The big news would have been - LCA MK II, trails advanced to end 2025.

You really think so ? HAL/ ADA and other DPSUs are the last remaining relics of Our Dark socialist Days. For real progress these deadlocks needs to be fully dismantled.

2027 is touted as the year of "first flight," which means more time and trials lays ahead. It is safe to assume that both technologies and capabilities in India's threat environment would have changed significantly by then, once again rendering Mk2 obsolete in the eyes of IAF, much as in the case of current Tejas variant. Also, the big question - the elephant in Tejas = the engine.
