He's the same guy who corrected the Indian news anchor LIVE on TV back in 2019 when Abhinandan Varthaman's MiG-21 engine wreckage was desperately being masqueraded as PAF F-16's engine wreckage. Fact was, no F-16 was shot down but the Indian media was so desperate they tried to use Abhinandan Varthaman's shot down MiG-21's engine wreckage to change the narrative.

To be very frank and unbiased, the HD pictures showed Tejas to be very rough (more so than the MiG-21). raised serious questions in my mind about the build quality. Even the canopy doesn't look smoothly blended.

However, to respond to the title of the video - JF17 has had a lot of competition from the FA/50 and lost to it a few times( eg Malaysia and Egypt, Iraq, Indonesia(given Indonesia is also going for the J10CE now, the training similarity between the two would have helped them a lot, in hindsight of course ) ) as a light fighter. JF17 has royally beaten off the Tejas challenge in this segment of the market following effectively the USA withdrawing from this segment. There was a gap in the market, and China/Pakistan, India and Korea saw this and they developed solutions for it. I would say South Korea is winning the fight right now with 213 in service, and 74 additional deliveries + 100 now for Egypt, with JF17 coming second.

JF-17 is a light multi-role combat aircraft, unlike Lead-in Fighter Trainers i.e. LIFT aircraft like FA-50, M-346, L-15 etc. Moreover, FA-50 has the edge of US involvement and its political influence.
