I hope at least two Tejas MK1A jets are delivered in the next 5-6 days, even if they have Category B engines. GE has stated it will take about two months before they can start producing 24 engines per year. They mentioned they hadn’t anticipated the Indian Air Force would place an order for 180 Tejas MK1A jets so suddenly.

They have delivery pending from previous order of 99 for 83LCA, so I don't think upcoming order of 97 LCA has anything to do with current lack of capacity.
 
Fabulous aerial video footage of 3 Tejas Mk1s from No.45 'Flying Daggers' Squadron on their way to the aerial flyby over Marina Beach, Chennai.

The IR footage from the transport/drone clearly shows the hot spots on the Tejas airframe and drop tanks and how much heat the engine nozzle emanates. A good IRST is indispensable for detecting, classifying and targeting 5th gen fighters which can't hide that massive engine nozzle.

The Union government has made a policy switch to buy as many as 114 Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) only from a vendor who is ready to set up a manufactuting unit in India for the entire aircraft.
It also wants transfer of technology and full production in India in a joint venture with a local partner.

Where is the policy switch? This was always the case, even with the original MRCA competition.

BTW, that Litening LDP acts a passive sensor, to allow for long range visual identification of targets, both in the air and ground. Kind of taking on a function of the IRST, which probably explains why it is so often seen on Tejas Mk1s.

Then they can simply wait until the end of days since NO-ONE will provide full ToT, NO-ONE will build a manufacturing site to build this type „in India“ (and surely without holding control of the manufacturing process while at the same time still being responsible for the manufacturing quality like last time demanded!) … forget it!

To express it in a maybe a bit rude way: All Western fighter manufactures know, they have India on the balls, India has nothing to demand and barely any other options and even more so they can play the different parties perfectly against each other to archived their results.
