HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

LA 5037 is in the bottom left corner.
LT 5207 is the bottom right corner.

There's a new trainer in yellow primer in the right hangar must be the last Mk1 trainer LT 5208

There's a new mk1A in primer in the left check out hangar. Must be LA 5038.

Assuming it's LA 5038, 6 MK1A aircraft in 10 months while suffering from supply chain issues doesn't seem like that bad of a deal

Wondering how many GE engines India currently has in stock. That would provide the cap of the max numbers to be produced unless USA allows more GE engines for India.

If my criticism seems nationalist tripe from the other side please ignore it but Considering the Production line is supposed to handle a lot more - it does look like personnel working at less than capacity.

In any production line for a private org - like LM, Boeing or Dassault it would be creating alarm bells for the bean counters and the board asking questions

We dont know how many are on rigs, most likely atleast 16 on various stages of integration.

Furthur, if I remember correctly, it was meant to deliver 8 in first FY.

If they able to deliver 5 or 6 by end of 31st of March, it is still not that bad.

That's the true issue faced by companies that are government-owned.

Private sectors generally perform better when it comes to adhering to timelines; they require periodic audits and inspections of their processes to ensure compliance. In contrast, government-owned companies often only address these matters on paper.

Hal has very poor records on commitments and timelines, they must be doing a lots better than today.

I never take the criticism of Tejas by Pakistani members seriously.

Rather you should take criticism if its done in good faith and simply leave aside that which (for some repeated umpteenth time) is double standards + bad faith

You literally have this mind numbingly good resource here known as @Oscar you can tag and see if he wants to give his view (@SiliconByte (silicon0000) is another good objective + well versed chap and @Quwa and a few more if you know how to find and engage slowly and methodically and tune out the static noise of lower quality)....to skip past the BS.

Problem is many Indians here (present and in past that have inflicted on what could have been done instead).... have significant chip on their shoulder and some very silly complexes apparently....are sometimes here for deeper wrong reasons to begin with.....and dont seem to know how to filter and pursue good faith discussion as far as possible and leave behind the bad faith stuff entirely to stew and churn amongst itself whatever the "country" or other tribal and gladiator arena hoohah they have to fixate and obsess over first thing.

Its just a forum in the end, you can trust in reasonable people to figure out fellow reasonable people and ignore the unreasonable ones on their end.... rather than give collective statements like yours to (wrongly in my view) summarise such a thing in reductive way.

There are a number of genuinely interested, knowledgeable and fair Pakistani members here to more then compensate for the larger inevitable presence of unfair blah blah ones that come with any large discussion space online these days.

3 Mk1A are ready + 1 Mk1A in hanger

Can also see one of the Tejas trainers from the 10 ordered from the batch of 83 in the hangar, apart from one Tejas Mk1A fighter in primer.

GjWa-CIaYAAQrW2

So they're building the Tejas Mk1A trainers concurrently with Tejas fighters.

5 Tejas Mk1A to be handed over by April 2025 & F-404 engine deliveries to start from next month onwards.

I agree that there are many respectful members from Pakistan, and I often align with their points. I should not have generazied, usually I against for any generalizations. Yeah - I was my mistake.

by nature, I sometimes struggle to control myself —I know I need to work on it, and I am trying,

My response was directed at a senior member who simply dismissed Tejas by saying failure.

So if someone says - I am more interested technically, one liner is something, hard to understand.

I don't feel emotionally on many points and defend india, example -Arjun tank, if someone says it is a failure, I would completely agree with them but will add that it helped to build infrastructure in india. I’m not going to defend DRDO on that.
