HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

This was the reason why IAF Did not order BLK1/2 Equivalents in large numbers.

IAF knew that it has options and it can increase production rate to compensate the shortfalls in longer period.

NO PAIN NO GAIN

That's LA-5039, the 7th Tejas Mk1A to be built. IAF will be able to re-equip No.23 Panthers or the No.3 Cobras with these to replace their Bisons.

We haven't inducted them yet. They're being flown and kept ready for the new GE F-404-IN20 engines. Once those arrive, they'll fit them and fly them.

However, given the current scenario it is definitely possible that Category B reserve engines could be pulled out of storage and these Tejas Mk1As could be rushed into service entry.

Yes indeed that is the Tejas Mk2 and that circular thing there is the rotary actuator for the canards. This is the FIRST image of the Tejas Mk2 prototype being built at HAL.

We'll see it roll-out by this Oct-Nov or thereabouts.
