Hangor Class Submarine | Updates & Discussion

we may never have politicians, servicemen and bureaucrats like 50s/60s era.
Yes, it’s unfortunate. It’s very weird but I feel a sense of unease knowing that once upon a time we fought very “gentlemanly” wars, where we had mutual respect and admiration, but also we would fight for our own. Men like Admiral Tasnim, or Sajjad Haider, etc etc.

Now we’re stuck with Sidhu types like to plaster their face over everything like wannabe Kim jong uns. It’s terrible and before anyone gets at me, even Adm Tasnim was displeased with the way we were “celebrating”. It’s un gentlemanly and immature, not fitting of a proper, professional force.

But the kind of increased hatred we see now with bodies of soldiers being beheaded, photos taken with, war crimes etc, the era of gentleman’s wars are over, and we’re back to an era of savagery.

Oh well, I’m sure we’ll have more stories to be proud of as time goes on, I just hope we can stop with the cringe celebrations over every little thing and the dictatorial state of our armed forces.

Still, men like Tasnim and all the others who may have also given their lives for us with their bravery make me immensely proud to be a Pakistani. No matter what the state of the country is, the men and women who loved it enough to defend it, and in some cases die defending it is a moment of immense pride for me.

*FIRST HANGOR CLASS SUBMARINE PNS/M HANGOR ARRIVES KARACHI*

The first PN HANGOR Class submarine, PNS/M HANGOR, has arrived in Karachi. The submarine was accorded a traditional naval welcome attended by senior naval officers, families of the crew, and Pakistan Navy personnel. Cadets of Pakistan Naval Academy presented a ceremonial salute to the incoming submarine and its crew, accompanied by a fly-past by PN Z9EC helicopters.

Upon arrival, a reception ceremony was held at Pakistan Navy Dockyard. Commander Pakistan Fleet, Vice Admiral Abdul Munib, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. PNS/M HANGOR is equipped with advanced combat systems, modern sensors, Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology, and enhanced stealth features, which will augment Pakistan Navy’s combat capability.

The arrival of PNS/M HANGOR marks a transformative step towards Pakistan Navy’s modernisation and reflects the strong strategic defence cooperation between Pakistan and China.

You have a point. However, AIP can extend the slow underwater movement to 21 days, not 70+ days, and remember it is slow to loiter in the vicinity, not to sprint to the destination. Having AIP subs is a blessing for creating a complicated offensive posture for the adversary, but it is no replacement for SSN or SSBN yet. Pakistan should invest in miniaturizing the nuclear reactor, even though it takes 10 years to have a product. The way technology is today, there is no alternative to it for foreseeable future.

Nope Lithium Ion fuel cell AIP on the scorpeon evolved can do 70+ days.

That plastic bottle tho...😭🤣

Why not write a letter to the PN to adjust their SOP's to have a permanent guards on a 24hr basis who will monitor and remove all water bottles with extreme prejudice and make sure future water bottles are "quickly dispatched to hell?"

As a Pakistani tax payer, you have that right ;)

(lol).
