How America’s Aircraft Carrier Crisis Reveals A Military Decline

It's not only aircraft carriers.

Class Ohio SSBN submarines, the cornerstone of MAD doctrine, were designed for 30 years life.

All, except 1, have expired their original max lifespan.

The Ohio-class submarines were originally designed with a 30-year service life. Commissioned starting in 1981 (with lead boat USS Ohio), the first boats were initially planned to retire around 2011, though the U.S. Navy later extended their operational lifespan to 42 years.

A testament to US naval engineering abilities. Actually, engineering in general. The B-52 will be flying for easily another 15-20 years.
