With all of the radar systems unveiled at Ideas 2024, and Pakistan experience in missiles, rockets, and also Pakistans home grown command and control systems to date, it does feel to me that Pakistan is "ready" to start to take the next step of building mobile SAM systems of various sizes and ranges. Additionally, and potentially i think they can start to develop a competitor to something like the S400 system in the next generation of projects. They just need to keep those engineers of teams together and allow them to interate and improve their knowledge, experience, products, associated intellectual property. Additionally, Pakistan could potentially attempt an AEW&C once it has matured its understanding of mobile AESA based radars via the UAV based homegrown AESA radars for SAR processing, and also completed the Sea Sultan project which will give it the experience of designing, customising and building aerial platforms.
All of the new Radar based projects of Ideas 2024 have made this years show truly interesting and fascinating for me as and i hope it shows to the planners in Pakistan can do this if it invests in people and education and provides the opportunity to those people. Pakistan has the human talent to do all it wants and needs if it is truly prepared to invest in high quality eduction of its people.
Pakistan needs to get away from the concept of having military officers who are in the "later stages of their careers and one step from retirement" own and run projects with "military run development projects where all that experience goes when the officer retires", to having that all done by the private sector with young, fresh and hungry engineers and leaders who will refine their art in this space over their entire careers, and instead have these officers provide requirements, their SME in their domains to this new talent.
Thankyou
