Tarawa was the flagship for Expeditionary Strike Group One (ESG-1).

PNS Rajshahi was a patrol craft of the Pakistan Navy, built in the UK in 1965 and commissioned in 1966. It was one of four Town Class patrol boats, serving as a gunboat for anti-insurgency and patrol duties. During the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, it was damaged by Indian aircraft but later repaired, evaded the Indian blockade, and successfully sailed to Malaysia before being returned to service in Karachi.

    Under the command of Lt. Commander Sikander Hayat, it managed to escape the Indian blockade and sailed to Malaysia.
  • Post-War:
    After the conflict and the surrender on December 16, 1971, PNS Rajshahi continued to serve in the Pakistan Navy.
