Arabs would behead him in public. They just executed a Bangladeshi teenage couple simply because they held hands in a mosque, and the Bangladesh government said nothing.
When Japan punishes Pakistani Muslims under liberal Japanese laws, Pakistanis complain about unequal treatment. But in Saudi Arabia, where Pakistani Muslims are declared unequal by law, they get frequently executed over so-called morality crimes, yet the Pakistan government says nothing.
If Japan started behaving like Saudi Arabia, imagine what would happen to Pakistani migrants who are trying to spread Islam in Japan.

The Japanese are indeed incredible and resilient, especially when it comes to denying, distorting, or downplaying Japan’s responsibility for its actions during World War II.
Despite decades of criticism from numerous victimized countries, Japan, as the aggressor, has managed to maintain its refusal to admit its wrongdoing for all these years. That is quite remarkable.

According to some Japanese conservatives, this is an attempt to break free from the 「masochistic view of history（自虐史観 Jigyaku shikan）」.
「Masochistic view of history （自虐史観）」 is a term used by Japanese conservatives to criticize the postwar view of history. They argue that mainstream historical narratives place too much emphasis on Japan’s aggression, wartime responsibility, and colonial rule, while neglecting the positive aspects of Japan’s history, undermining national identity and diminishing the self-esteem and self-confidence of the Yamato people.
The 1990s were an important period in which the 「Masochistic view of history （自虐史観）」 discourse gained wider influence.
Japanese conservatives argued that postwar history education placed too much emphasis on Japan’s aggression and negative responsibilities during World War II. They believed this undermined national pride and diminished the self-esteem and self-confidence of the Yamato people.
They therefore pushed for revisions to history textbooks in an attempt to restore Japan’s national pride.
Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also supported this historical perspective and used this line of argument.
This is also one of the reasons why Japanese history textbooks distort or downplay Japan’s responsibility for its aggression during World War II.

Furthermore, to this day, some Japanese right-wing groups still wear Imperial Japanese military uniforms from World War II and carry the Rising Sun flag, a symbol associated with Japanese imperialism, when visiting Yasukuni Shrine or participating in street demonstrations.
Some Japanese right-wing activists have also been seen carrying flags of Nazi Germany.
By contrast, Germany’s Criminal Code imposes criminal penalties on the public use of Nazi symbols, including flags, badges, uniforms, slogans, and forms of salutation, subject to applicable legal exceptions. Certain symbols that are sufficiently similar to prohibited ones to cause confusion are also covered. Violators may face imprisonment or a fine.
Japan does not have an equivalent blanket prohibition on the public display of symbols associated with Japanese imperial militarism.
There are clear differences between Germany and Japan in their legal systems and social attitudes toward dealing with wartime history and related symbols.
Unlike Germany, Japan still permits public activities involving symbols associated with Japanese imperial militarism.
Both countries were defeated in World War II. Why has Germany’s apology and reckoning with its wartime crimes received widespread international recognition, while Japan’s has not? The reason is obvious.

One of the most serious controversies surrounding Japan’s handling of its wartime responsibility is the enshrinement of Class-A war criminals at ★Yasukuni Shrine, as well as the diplomatic protests triggered by Japanese prime ministers personally visiting the shrine.
★ Mainland Chinese authorities refer to Yasukuni Shrine as the 「war criminals’ shrine（戰犯神社）」.
In 2013, then-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s personal visit to Yasukuni Shrine triggered strong international criticism. The administration of then-US President Barack Obama also publicly expressed disappointment.
Abe did not personally visit the shrine again while serving as prime minister.
His successors as Japanese prime minister have also refrained from personally visiting Yasukuni Shrine, including current Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

These actions by Japan continue to provoke dissatisfaction in China (including Taiwan), South Korea, and other countries that suffered during World War II. They remain among the reasons why Japan has struggled to achieve full reconciliation with its victimized neighbors and why those countries have not fully forgiven Japan.

The Japanese characters (kanji) marked in red are 100% identical to Chinese characters (Traditional or Simplified).
The Japanese characters (kanji) marked in green have only undergone slight changes to their strokes, but a Chinese person can immediately tell which Chinese character they originated from.
