Imran Khan bankrupted Pakistan in 2021-22 with $20bn CAD, before that Nawaz in 2017-18 with his stupid policies. Keep FX reserves around $40-50bn and CAD under control and you will not need IMF ever again.

Because if IK doomed pakistan economically, then why were IMF conditions too "friendly" as compared to these one they put to SS government ? It means IMF is not patwar and actually consider today's Pakistan more economically unstable then Pakistan of 2021-22 (which you cant stop crying about).

That being said, I still dont know how IK government gave us 6.2% GDP growth rate in a so called "bankruptcy". If he can do that. Than maybe bring that bankruptcy back.

And imported fuel was never subsidized by IK government. The did removed the levy and made it zero dollars though. Doesn't mean he was paying from government pocket. Charging zero levy when oil prices skyrocket and actually subsidizing are two different things. Maybe its hard for you to differentiate.

And the reason for zero levy was so that the effects of global oil prices doesn't effect local industries and they remain competitive. But ye apki buddi me ni jay gi baat.

i don't disagree with your points, but don't you think it was better for the Army to fix the country itself rather than run around trying to secure foreign aid?
FIX the corruption pithole, the root cause of it all. Charity should begin at home. If the all powerful can't do it, then surely and slowly the external aid help will dry up soon (when nobody is willing to give anything). Why are they NOT fixing the big white elephant? We hve thugs/mafias ruling the country and busy living lavish lives while the poor suffer. WHY NOT FIX THE OBVIOUS FIRST ??

i would not wanna rely on remittances too much now, any big war again in ME, KSA and other places will see those remittances come to a screaching halt. War can restart anytime now. Hyperinflation everywhere will see LESS money being sent to Pakistan anyway and countries will start making it costly to send money to discourage it. This simply cannot be relied upon to save from bankruptcy.

I dont give a damn about any politics/parties or any sides. What we need is to end corruption and fix the bad mismanagement and wastage of taxpayer money. When we see it blown off by use of lavish protocols, lavish jet trips to UK, USA, etc, its very obvious (bureaucracy, judiciary, parliament/senate, presidency and PM and all the CMs and provincial officials and politicians and all).

Even here in Canada, we do our best to avoid spending unnecessary money and save where its possible. for example, Doctor appointments are Virtual appointments and the pharmacy delivers the meds! That moneys saved in gas when no need to go to the doctors office for some ailments or consultations.

Pakistan was losing money on petrol back in 2022. Plus subsidy meant people started hoarding it and oil imports sky rocketed, reason for record high CAD.

Right now Pakistan is in very different position and have kept CAD under control despite Iran war.

As far as who is to blame for current IMF program and conditions? Nawaz/Imran era from 2013-2023. 10 years of absolute retarded economic policy. Borrowing dollars to spend on imports. Signing expensive deals that were not needed like many CPEC IPPs power plants, Qatar LNG deal etc

The good news is Pakistan energy problem is going to solve forever on its own thanks to cheap solar+battery. No more imported coal, LNG in few years. Diesel/petrol demand will be curbed with EVs. There is finally light at the end of tunnel and no more IMF after 2028.
