What do members here think about the impact of the controversial BJP victory in West Bengal on Bangladesh?

I think this is extremely bad news for many reasons.
1. The BJP are obviously an anti-Islamic hate-organisation involved in the murder and lynching of Muslims.
2. They are anti-Bengali as they are basically dominated by BIMARU fascists from the Hindi belt who think "Hindi" is the real Indian language and Bengali is either not really an "Indian" language or on the same level as Hindi.
3. The BJP are clearly fascists who have no interest in democracy and removed millions of Muslims from voter lists:

They can't be disparate communities, they need to bring their 200 million population together to create extended areas of Muslim presence

Not our business. Personally I saw their new leader Shuvendo Putkikari or Chutiyakari speak; I wonder how people voted for this idiot. However anti Muslim hate is a strong force in India and these people blame Muslims for all their ills. I literally saw several comments where these BJP supporters claim Bengal is now free after 900 years or that Bengal and India as whole is poor due to Muslims. While I can’t speak for India as a whole, the entire Bengal region was one of the richest areas in the world in the medival period under the Bengal Sultanate and then during the Bengal Nawab, jaggath set a Hindu btw was the richest if not one of the richest people alive during that time who was the chief banker of Bengal nawab. So these people are delusional beyond hope. My thinking is Bangladesh should quickly while maintaining pragmatic relations with India increase joint production of weapons from China and Turkey specially drones, navy, and short range missiles so any misadventure by these BJP goons will be met with an iron hand.

I see three impacts:

1. West Bengali Muslims migrating to southern India to escape BJP thugs.

2. Illegals moving to other parts of India or moving back to BD.

3. More curves on cross border smuggling - which will have some limited impact on border areas. Where a sizeable number depend on smuggling for a living.

Due to the dire situation of Bangladesh’s economy - I don’t see even the most persecuted West Bengali Muslim migrating to Bangladesh.

I think BJP will consolidate their hold on West Bengal through preferential policies towards Hindus. Our Jamatis were useful idiots during their election and will be going forward.

I would argue that Congress at its core have always been the same party. They just did not outrightly say so and always kept some token Muslims for the sake of a facade. Nehru's unwillingness to prevent partition and allow the existence of autonomous Muslim wings within a potential larger India post British departure is a case in point.

The anti-Sikh roots and massacres were also carried out largely by Congress gangs post Indras assassination. Sikhs in fact were in Nehru's constitution classed as Hindus.

Muslims in W.Bengal are nearly 27% and historically Mamta's voters. However, they are still marginalised, so this time they voted for a change. There can be some promises made or something but idk.

What is controversial about a BJP victory in West Bengal? The only thing surprising is how big the victory was. The reasons you listed are superficial and just plain wrong. If the BJP wins a state, people always point to anti-Muslim sentiment as a reason. It's more complicated than that.

West Bengal has been in economic decline for decades due to misgovernance, corruption, and inefficiency. Before 15 years of TMC rule, West Bengal was ruled by the communists for 34 years. The result is there for all to see-- economic stagnation.

BJP means a lot of things. Pro-Hindu, pro-Hindu, but they also represent less corruption, better governance, and honest leadership. This victory was decades in the making with assistance from the communists and TMC.

No, Muslims want what all citizens want-- better governance, less corruption, and better economic opportunities. What are called bread-and-butter issues? They also don't like the illegal immigrants coming from Bangladesh because they compete for economic opportunities with the locals.

If the BJP's project is implemented in West Bengal and the Seven Sister states, it will have a devastating economic, social, cultural and political impact on Bangladesh.

The BJP's project for Bangladesh is completely different from that of the Congress Party. The Congress Party tried to implement the idea of Akhand Bharat in the region for decades but ultimately failed. The BJP's project is based on communalism and is the exact opposite of what the Congress Party wanted to do under Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi (as explained in my book The India Doctrine (1947-2007)). This can be seen in these attached videos taken after the local assembly elections in West Bengal...

During the election campaign in Assam, the BJP staged a play. This play shows a Muslim family, consisting of men, women and children. It shows that the Assam administration is demolishing their house with a bulldozer and the family is very upset. The police can be seen dragging them away, while the onlookers laugh loudly and cheer.

What a disgusting display of communal hatred!
