TMC's fall from power was long overdue. They grew too complacent to any change and rampant hooliganism in the state. It's not even Hindu vs Muslim thing as people are making it out to be, Muslims voted for BJP too. Reality is always more nuanced.

Most of the Bengalis I know are actually positively inclined towards the change. I've seen videos of the illegal slums near railways stations being cleared. I hope BJP brings investment to Bengal, it has been long overdue.

And unlike the past two elections where TMC won there hasn't been much political violence, so far so good. Bengal needs stability and good governance for the next decade or so.

What distance matter when ideological bonds are present? Also creating smaller state would ensure better economic growth for minorities, the whole idea of Pakistan Muslim League to begin with. Learn to admit that Bengalis rejected concept of Pakistan and chose racial identity over religious. Only then can the process of healing and eventual seeds of 'reconquista' can sprout from the ashes and glory of hunting tigers in the Sundarbans returned to their rightful owners.
