With the rise of ISIS, and funding and training given to it by you know who. Taliban retaliated by banning wahabism, it's literature and ISIS, they declared Afghanistan as a Hanafi fiqh following nation but also gave rights to Shia minorities. Pakistan for 20 years has not been able to build up a national narrative against extremism and terrorism, they know exactly what is happening but are scared to do anything about it. Taliban did this within a few years.

Pakistan has a perfect opportunity to work with Afghan Taliban, help them finish off ISIS, in return Afghanistan will not host BLA or TTP. Taliban as alleged is close to Russia and Iran, we should speak to them but it will not happen because we are in CIA camp.

If the US had supported ISIS, this network would have massively expanded and might have overrun Afghanistan. Keep in mind that the US dropped the most powerful non-nuclear bomb on a massive ISIS hideout killing many there in 2017. ISIS is yet to recover from this blow. The US also told Pakistan that all Taliban are bad news and now we are finding out.

Look at Iraq. They created a coalition with the US and Kurd and wiped the floor with ISIS elements in the region. They had a clear policy that they will not negotiate with ISIS networks. This is how you do it. Study Operation Inherent Resolve (google is your friend).

While in Pakistan, we still debate who is right and who is wrong because propaganda is a common theme in our discourses. This is why we fail.

Why start in 2001, what did we owe the Afghans

Why not start in 1947 and the decades where Afghanistan repeatedly attacked Pakistan with no response

Pakistans responsibility is Pakistan and it's own interests, not the welfare of the Afghans who never consider Pakistans welfare or interests
