India Blocks Turkey’s BRICS Bid Over Pakistan Ties

further to the above news, I would say that Pakistan, as nuclear power, should also be considered for BRICS membership (y)
Turkey has been granted partner country status along with 13 other nations. As for Pakistan, I think it’s impossible for Pakistan to receive even observer status, given its relations with India, as India will always veto against Pakistan.

People are jumping up and down on BRICS rather stupidly. BRICS fundamentally is a grouping of countries looking to establish a financial system that can fully bypass US dominated system.

BRICS wants to establish means for its member countries to pay each other without being audited or sanctioned by the Whitehouse.

If India wants to buy oil from Russia or Venezuela it should be possible for it to pay Venezuela without worrying that US has sanctioned it.

If China wants to sell motor / EV vehicles and construction equipment to Russia it should not have to see that if US is sanctioning Russia.

It is not a military alliance. It is not an anti-west NATO.

Ultimately, it is a will of non-western countries to be not dominated in banking and finance sectors by the choices made in whitehouse.

Why are Pakistanis acting like the saviours of BRICS, no one is stopping them from forming a groupings with other like minded countries to achieve their objectives..

They’re already in OIC (Organization Of Islamic Countries)

I've said it before, I'd remain skeptical of BRICS so long as the biggest Western/US mole India is one of the founding members and specifically installed to sabotage the whole enterprise. India and Russia (Putin's latest transgressions against the West not withstanding) are two natural enemies of the global south and they will always backstab powers standing up to the zionist led world order.

I think the greatest significance of the existence of the BRICS group is in the economic field. No matter how many differences we have in politics and military affairs, our common characteristics will be deeply influenced by the US dollar dominated economic and trade system. Economy is the most fatal and profound weakness of every country, and it is the foundation of people's lives and confidence. If BRICS countries and countries that hope to join the BRICS group can successfully open up a second path outside the US dollar in the currency trading system, it will be the most significant success

A lot has changed in this century.

Since the onset of this century, the United States realized that China will be its number 1 rival & challenge for the rest of this century, they could not use Pakistan against it. Even though Pakistan was frontline state / major ally by start of the century as it was providing supply line to NATO in Afghanistan but still when President Bush left the office, his notes were made public years later, that were sent to President Barak Obama the next president. His notes specifically mentioned that India is an ally, Pakistan is not. (see: https://www.firstpost.com/explainer...ld-barack-obama-in-secret-memos-12158982.html) Note, it was said, when there was no Quad, no close military ties.
He said friend and not ally. There is a difference.

Turks are not like other nations. They are a hard nut to crack. People who stood by them historically or people who they feel are related to them in some way will be given preference no matter what the circumstances are. Whilst they may be great entrepreneurs, they are the descendants of the Ottomans. They will always aspire to become leader rather than a partner and since India is trying to "compete" for sphere of influence and reduce the share of pie, business becomes personal.
When Turks can partner with US and EU in NATO, and are ready to partner with Russia and China in BRICS, they will partner with India too given the right conditions.

Are Indians bothered who joins OIC? Why not use OIC to create the anti western collation that Pakistanis want?
I think it very important not to attack others, or their countries, but to concentrate on clear-eyed assessments of our position. That's all. The rest is pyrotechnics.
