It doesn’t mean you stop playing!
Still, I would say India has won medals in the last two Olympics, and for me, that’s more than enough. Yes, European hockey teams are much more advanced and are playing better at the moment. Agreed on that.
But sports are about much more than winning medals. Sports tell you something about the health and spirit of a country. If sports aren’t alive and thriving, it can be a sign that life and survival have become too harsh, and people have little space left for joy, competition, or dreams.
So yes, we should keep playing, keep competing, and keep trying to improve. Winning matters, but keeping the sporting spirit alive matters even more.
That’s exactly what’s important. And as I already said, I used to play many sports, and I still follow a lot of sports today. Winning definitely gives you happiness, there’s no doubt about that. But for me, the joy of playing, watching, competing, and following the sport is just as important.
