Come on, don't sugarcoat. India has 24% of the world's poor.

Even the poverty definition of poverty in Pakistan and India is different.

India has a more easier going definition of poverty than Pakistan has.

Pakistan has less poverty than India has.

That's good news.

Little Off-topic but prices have also increased a lot.

Example - I still remember, I used to buy branded Aashirwad Aata 10Kg in 180rs, now the same brand with 10 KG - costing around 450 rs.

I bought a Pulsar 150 CC bike in 2009, approx 75 K, and now it is around - 1.40 lacs.

I am not sure how this is calculated properly when they do the calculations

India has mass poverty, then you have hundreds of millions who will beat poverty by 1 dollar

India is more concerned about fudging the numbers then reality

Much of Indias so called success is simply because it has a massive population of 1.4+ billion

The vast majority of the rest of the world is multiple times smaller then india in population, the UK for example with a population of approx 65 million is 20-30 times smaller then india

Exactly, India's greatest strength is its vast population and diaspora. That is India's success.

Still its shamefully dirt poor population percentage hinders India.

Half of the world's poor live in five countries's poor live in five countries

Heartiest congratulations on eradication of poverty in Pakistan. We, India and Bangladesh, are now double motivated to keep up with the shining star of South Asia.

Next step for Pakistan is eradication of Polio! 👍

At least Pakistan does not make the list for having largest amount of poverty in the world. :)

India is one of the world worst unfair, unequal societies and people are just so used to this injustice.
Ha! Not even China makes the list for having the world's largest amount of Poverty.

Even though China has nearly the same population as India.

Big brain moment
If you understand how geopolitics and economics have worked in the past 50yrs you would've known why.
It wasn't all roses for China either, last 20yrs was when major change happened.
