India Foreign Policy Thread

One should not underestimate India.

It was smart of Indians to develop Chahbahar port. Oil from Iran and logistics from Central Asian states would have given India a strategic edge.

The problem was war ended everything. A strategic reset has happened, and Pakistan would do well to partner with Iran where both Chahbahar and Gwadar ports can work in tandem.

If and when Pakistan is able to give President Trump an exit out of the ongoing war on Iran, then Pakistan's star will rise globally and not just regionally. I think Pakistan is going try to get the American help over the Kashmir issue if Pakistan is successful in its mediation between Iran and America. There is already a UNSC Resolution over Kashmir which India ignores due to technicality but Americans could bring that up on behalf of Pakistan. And India is very vulnerable to the UNSC Resolutions now because it can't count on a Russian Veto like it used to.
Lol biro…. Do you think pissreli lapdog will bark at their master’s best slaves? Though i like the optimism…

India, Pakistan, America and Israel are four different nations with some shared and some conflicting interests; they are not the same! Not even Israel and America fully! Trump has no love for India--and neither for Pakistan, though General Asim Munir has made some personal inroads. And Israelis must know that India is nothing more than a convenient 'ally' because of Pakistan and that India is big market for the Israeli weapons. Pakistan doesn't go too far in challenging Israel and vice versa. And currently Pakistan is helping America with an exit plan from the Iran war--something almost all analysts say Trump needs one.
With all those factors in the mix, I see no reason as to why Trump couldn't squeeze India over Kashmir via UNSC. At least he would be able to get even more trade concessions from India while doing so. India is really vulnerable in the UNSC these days!

But getting them to do anything for Kashmir is not going to happen… Kashmir is dead nationally and internationally… on top of that Kashmiris themselves don’t want our help so why should we force ourselves on others…. Let’s discuss it on Kashmiri thread we are going way too off

If Iran chokes Indian oil…….millions of Indians will die from starvation……

Fairly evident this fact of life now……

Irans got India in the palm of its hand……😝

If wishes were horses, Pakistanis would ride...

in my opinion india will get this port back… no country powered india as much as iranians and with cheapest energy products to cheap give away of a strategic port and these rundians can’t even thank their strategic partner properly…

This is a joint project, not an indian project

It was too clever by half

Because Israel is number one ally, and therefore in reality this was always a non-starter because of that

The only way this works is if regime change happens and you have a pro-west government.

That being said, the Iranians very much need economic recovery and would greatly value Eastern trade routes, maybe this is why India knows Iran can tolerate so much.

Of course, having a border with Iran is supposed to give you energy security.

However every other week your government announces another fuel price hike, but yes, please continue lecturing others about “energy security.”

The famous Iran- Pakistan gas pipeline has been “coming soon” for what… fifteen years now?

You literally sit next to one of the world’s biggest oil and gas reserves, yet still have to schedule load shedding in 2026 because there isn’t enough electricity to go around. Quite an achievement.

Meanwhile, poor India — which supposedly has no such “advantage” — somehow manages 24-hour electricity across most of the country at the same time keeping the oil prices unchanged, despite importing the bulk of its oil.

Turns out geography alone cannot fix incompetence.

20 years they were going to make this port a "game changer": "bypass Pakistan", "Open up Central Asia", "Destroy Karachi and Gwadar"

2026

Port closed and Karachi Pprt has had its busiest and most commericially successful year in it's history.

Anything disputing these facts is the usual India cope.....
