The PAF is giving access to the Western aviation journalists and answering to their inquiries. As for the IAF, they're not even allowing Dassault to inspect Ra-fails! It shows a sea of difference in competence and confidence b/w these two rival forces. The IAF is basically gone from the Bharati strategic calculations. Hence, they're chipping in missiles, whose sites are themselves at stake without a proper air dominance. And, its a "no go" area as far as the powers that matter are concerned. No wonder President Trump is mentioning the Pak-Bharat war every now and then....

Damn - damn .. looks like a "late decision" to send over the planes. They are sending over a IL-78 over as well ( it is listed as SP, so not sure if it will be visible or not on the airfield for the display ) !!!

Too late for me to book a ticket( i normally go every year but i made some plans since there was noting interesting this year to me), hopefully someone else will go and take some good piccies.

It very likely is one lost - one perhaps damaged due to extreme maneuvering (over stressed airframe). And the others are just claims based on them going off radar dropping to extreme low altitude and emissions tracks disappearing suddenly.
Likely those near the LoC - Bhatinda doesn’t provide any spot for ground clutter or otherwise to have doubts on Radar tracks.

we had the option to humiliate them, we could have seriously hurt them for the next 10 years; we didn't.

True. That's my gripe with the Pakistani approach: why didn't they destroy IAF beyond recognition? The result is the common Indian's perception is due to their very vocal and mad media; India was in touching distance to capture Pakistani Kashmir. They are angry that when India was winning the war, why did they agree to the ceasefire?
You can't show restraint to such an evident, rabid and mad enemy.

Escalation my foot---. It was COWARDICE AT THE TOP LEVEL---.

Not a single Paf pilot of the caliber of Capt Karnal Sher Khan---.

PAF need to teach its leaders and pilots about the then Col Sharon of his part in the 1973 war---.

Pakistanis need to read about it as well---.

Yes it was Cowardice to some extent. Had we shot down those aircraft we would not be lamenting the SOW strikes and Indian missile strikes that much days later. I have to concede PAF did learn from last time and prepared an aggressive response instead of standard CAPs this time, but it wasn't harsh enough.I hope this was a lesson well learnt , and I pray the enemy is as arrogant and ignorant as it was this time, the next time too.

how did they dodge the PL15s then?

I Guess, even if they survived, India would never reveal, "...oh hey, look, here we lost one rafale in bhatinda, but in kashmir 2 rafales were able to successfully escape PL15s due to SPECTRA and bla bla...."
