India is so unhappy with Rafale that they ask french governments the modalities to order between 40 to 114 units in a GtoG deal.

"New Delhi has requested information in connection with a possible new Rafale order (between 40 and 114). This procedure is separate from the Indian tender for the acquisition of 114 combat aircraft currently underway (MRFA).
This is a strong signal. Very strong. For all those who thought the Rafale had not performed operationally well during the Sindoor air raid against Pakistan, India has sent a clear message. It wants to order more Rafales as soon as possible through a state-to-state agreement, outside of India's MRFA (Multi Role Fighter Aircraft) tender for the purchase of 114 fighter jets. According to concordant sources, New Delhi, strongly pressured by the Indian Air Force (IAF), sent a letter to Dassault Aviation in early August asking for details on the price for a possible order ranging from 40 (minimum) to 114 Rafales.
This letter clearly demonstrates that Indian airmen were not disappointed with the results of the Rafales deployed during Operation Sindoor, despite the information attacks launched by Pakistan and China. According to our information, the Indians are expecting a response from France in the coming days, perhaps in late August or early September. As for the MRFA tender, it is reportedly continuing. This initiative shows that the Indian army wishes to accelerate the modernization of its combat aircraft fleet, particularly in light of tensions with Pakistan.."
