Yaar chicken shicken and all is seriously overrated.

The best daal I ate was in sub zero temperatures. Thick fog. Raat ko. Me and my buddy. Somewhere deep in Punjab.

I think Ludhiana towards Rajasthan. Highway dhabha. Shivering violently.

Just daal. Big hari (dark almost black lambi crunchy waali) mirchi. And roti. Hot. Steaming.

Fug man. Never eaten daal like that where we live.

Raat ko ek baar stop karo and you get a room, naha dho ke daba ke khao.

But on the road, light is better. And keep drinking (from your Camelbak or hydration bladder).

Key is to get susu every 3-4 hours. Proper stream. Light straw color.

interesting anecdote, ek baar fir dauraing..

here's a pretty well known southie uddipi place, upar is full dosa type veg wonly, neeche they have a shady bar + tandoori chicken (excellent tandoori chicken, I should add, proper stuff)

bahar they had a defunct juice shed and rented it out to a keralite-manipuri couple (interesting pairing) .. udhar full kerala beef/north east pork this that milta tha.

word reached the tam brams running the place.. nice friendly couple got kicked out, owned made the most disgusting face ever when he told me what had happened.... ki beef/boof bek rahe they, right under his nose

They were never to be seen or heard from again. I asked some bagal waali dukaan walas ki kya hua.. nobody knows *x-files theme
