Indian Air Force News and Discussions ll

HAL bahane, Marwari/Parsi/Jain etc. super-tycoons shahane...

IAF's epitome and gold-standard of achievement: pulverizing the single poorly equipped PAF squadron in the East Pak in 1971 and gaining 100% air-superiority. The IAF wants to replicate that at all engagements. According to this former AM, the IAF has compelled the Pak side to ask for a ceasefire during Ops Sindoor!

My note: the IAF is 100% OK vis-a-vis the PAF; And, the PAF is 1,000% OK vis-a-vis the IAF, so it can now join the ME/CA wars.

a typical friendly desi geture of stating a funny thing and touching someone is more of a Punjabi gesture shown by IAF chief while in a press confrence while commenting about F-35.
"the whole aircraft was shown, the cockpit was not"..

a spot on comment. very funny but friendly as well. there is a bit of joke but a mild compaint as well that the Americans could do better,

Saǐd this for years on years on here, Indian posters claimed otherwise and now they have gone silent.

F-35 was never offered and never will be. Indians not even allowed near it.

India-Russia relationship is just too close

Indian government has not floated any tender for the acquisition of fifth-generation fighter jets, nor has the Indian Air Force proposed any such acquisition plan. The only fifth-generation fighter India is pursuing is its indigenous AMCA, whose first flight is targeted for September 2028, with induction planned for 2035.

CATS Warrior could enter production within the next 2–3 years. It is a stealthy, unmanned combat aircraft designed to carry out missions alongside existing fighters and can be equipped with air-to-air missiles. Essentially, these aircrafts act as stealthy extensions of existing fourth-generation fighters, enhancing their reach, firepower and survivability without requiring the immediate induction of a fifth-generation fighter.

Tejas features highly advanced avionics, including the indigenous UTTAM AESA radar, an indigenous mission computer, a four-channel quadriplex digital fly-by-wire system, the Mayawi electronic warfare suite, external jammers, digital flight-control computers, air-data computers, and weapon computers. Its glass cockpit incorporates three multifunction displays (MFDs), a head-up display (HUD), and helmet-mounted display capabilities. These systems have been developed by Indian agencies such as ADA and DRDO.

CATS Warrior does not incorporate the same suite of onboard systems or have the same development requirements. Therefore, comparing the development timelines of the Tejas and the CATS Warrior is neither logical nor an apples-to-apples comparison. They are fundamentally different platforms with different design objectives, technological requirements and levels of complexity.
