Can't see how in the current scenario (not talking about this attack, but generally) both sides will remove all troops from their respective slices of Kashmir.. add to that the number of people who may have moved there from other regions.
Some say there are a lot of Punjabis now settled in what you guys refer to as AJK. GB ka I haven't much idea off the demographics.

Solution sirf ek hai, and that is to convert the current demarcation into an international border.
Spoken to many over the years, all have basically said if it were up to them, they'd go it solo, and make money from the rivers by charging both Pk and Ind. They've also always maintained that their grievances with Bharat sarkar do not translate into fondness of Pakistan. Ideally they want it all, J&K, AJK, GB, Leh - Ladakh, and Aksai.

So you see how everyone has different ideas for it, Pak, Ind, and Kashmiris themselves.
Not much info about AJK and Mirpur people, but Kashmiris here say they're quite different from proper valley folk, who consider themselves the true custodians of the idea of Kashmiriyat, it includes the Koshur language and a lot of other anthropological this and that.
Very messy situation, made worse by this horrific attack, ye toh ekdum ISIS style tha.. asking folk to drop their pants so they can check mazhab before shooting em point blank.
This attack has only served the beleaguered Pak fauj to placate the awam. They are now once again the Shaan-e-Pakistan.
