The current focus of our Army appears to be more on arresting political leaders and launching new housing schemes, rather than on core professional military duties. I wouldn’t rate them particularly highly as a professional force at this point. One must also bear in mind that India’s defence budget exceeds Pakistan’s entire national budget, giving them the capacity to sustain a prolonged war, which could severely damage our economy. Both sides have their strengths and weaknesses, and history shows that weaker forces have often triumphed through superior strategy. However, I believe it would be wise to avoid any conflict until our Army redirects its attention towards its professional responsibilities.
The bottom line is, both countries have the firepower to destroy each other completely so there is not going to be ultimate winners in this conflict. So the sooner both nations de-escalate the tensions, the better for both nations.
