India dams on western rivers now have capacity of just 0.75 MAF. Under IWT they are allowed up to 3.6 MAF even if dams have to be run of river. But India can use that capacity as weapon in dry months.

My opinion of Zaid Hamid is a little better now. I used to think he is just another right wing war monger, military guy but in this video he is quite convincing that the traitors, selfish politicians in Pakistan have caused too much damage to Pakistan by not allowing building of dams like the Kalabagh dam. He goes into a good bit of details the global presence of dams and how water is already causing conflicts between countries. And he compares the weak vs the strong ones and concludes the video that it is the law of the jungle where only the strong ones would prevail.
The video was made several days before this latest issue with India started but Mr. Hamid was convinced that India was going to bypass IWT. Hats off to him!

Pakistan has not yet cancelled the Simla agreement. But if it comes to that point, then there is no official LoC. Pakistan would be free to destroy the Indian fence on LoC and get into the illegally occupied Indian J&K.

Rather disingenous on his and establishment's part that Sindhi nationalists are preventing the building of dams...MFkrs flattened the whole of FATA with drone attacks and daily bomb/straffing runs from their very own F-16s and JF-17s and fought and still fighting a full blown insurgencies in both KPK and Balochistan. Completely stole the overwhelming mandate of the people of Pakistan in favor of IK and PTI and effectively banned the most popular political entity in the history of Pakistan.

But somehow the third rate Gambino cinema ticket scalper of the past and rest of the Sindhi waderas are too much of a kinetic or political/social challenge for the lumber 1 jamedars to overcome.

Both countries have put things on 'abeyance' thus keeping the options of rollbacks open. But, yes, while it will take India many years to 'punish' Pakistan by using water as a weapon, Pakistan, once the Shimla Accord is 'cancelled', would be immediately free to act at and across the LOC, citing the Indian illegal and unilateral actions on IWT. The so-called 'sanctity of LOC' wouldn't apply as Pakistan would cite India's violation of IWT.

PS. I can't help but remember that once, probably mid 2000s, some Pakistani journalists went to India and had a meeting with the then PM Manmohan Singh; the issues of the water flowing to Pakistan came up. Mr. Singh clearly said 'When you go back to Pakistan, please tell your people that India will never stop water flow to Pakistan.' Compared with Singh and even Vajpayee, I see devils in Rajnath, Ajit Duval and Amit Singh--even Modi doesn't physically appear as evil compared with them. Those three men are EVIL IMO!
