Problem is they are not even mediocre. They are below average. No ability to foresee events. If they had iota of sense, they could have avoided being total naked. Only 1.5 yrs was remaining in IK & PTI's tenure, they should have waited and by next elections they could have gotten favorable results easily with slight manipulation. There wouldn't be any need to alter the entire mandate.

But I think things are not that simple. Military estab's urgency had personal agendas attached. There was whole power struggle going. The only reason PMLN/PPP wanted to do the regime change sooner was to get ability to install their favorite guy as COAS. They made him COAS post retirement and that was their only objective fullfilled. They knew psychotic munir has personal vendetta as a bonus and will do everything at any cost to suppress rivals. Well, he went above & beyond expectations, even delayed general elections, even denied SC majority bench decision and list goes on. So the mafia of N-league & PPP basically for their own power enabled all that chaos. Blatant interference, forceful constitution ammends, killing of journos, shooting unarmed people, rampant hatred for military in sections of society, all that eventually is linked to favorite man installed at COAS position, the guy who seems to be loving this power and intends to rule indefinitely and he don't feel shy using all the power at state's disposal to suppress opponents he don't like. Kind of monster PMLN, PPP has enabled for their power has eventually reduced their own worth less than a subedar of army. I mean never saw that PM of country comes out to receive a 22nd grade govt servant from his car and salutes him. In most ways, today's era is more dictatorial then Gen Zia's. So, really can't equate IK with these mafias. IK made immense blunders but he lacked the extreme cunning & devious mindset that is displayed by his rivals and hence he was not even capable to do that much severe damage. His opponents can tear apart constitution or citizens or do any unthinkable thing for power.

Bottomline is we all agree that immense & extreme injustices are done in last 3 years. If we all agree upon this, then we all should also agree that perpetrators of these crimes who for their own power used violence as a tool and used state's resources and did most horrific crimes must pay. If they don't pay for their evil deeds then Pakistan do not have a future. It will give licence to next shareefs and next asim munirs to do all that want to do without fearing for accountability.

THis is exactly the attitude what is wrong with Pakistan. Like saying see India we have nothing to lose and we are waiting die as Sheed. So we can continue to kill u in Kashmir and you can't do much.

Why can't pakistan be a normal state?? Why the hell?

Accept the LoC as IB and focus on its people and give them better lives instead of looking to change the map of India.

In 1965, you tried and failed.
In turn got 1971 war that divided Pakistan.

Did kargil and saw the results that India army would climb mountain peaks if that was ever needed.

Pakistan can't make India out go out of pakistan despite the militancy of 3 decades and now India is doing tit for tat by sponsoring Baluchistan movement., If it were up to me I would have founded people in Lahore to break pakistan.

Pakistan have to understand, it can't blackmail India or scare Indians with nukes. Even 1000 nukes would not scare us. If there is nuclear war and 500 million Indians die in Pakistani nuclear attack, there would still be one billion Indians left. At the same time we would make sure not a single Pakistani left to take its name.

So I would suggest Pakistan give up its dream of snatching Kashmir away from India and instead work on the 250 million people currently living in Pakistan. India would happily accept the status quo.

He never was - just slightly more stubborn but more so towards those he considers subordinate . Either way - this deviated too much from the current crisis which is more so agnostic to IK and more so to Pakistan state policies and plans from last 50 years

immense and extreme injustices are the epitome of the history of Pakistan.

However, if IK is not cunning or shrewed he has no place in leadership.

So no - he is cunning to an extent but his biggest issue is his ego which simply leaves him unable to admit he was wrong.

And ANY individual - be it him or the same egoistic fellows in uniform who cannot Think Again on their actions are unfit to lead.

A leaders prime goal is to think , evaluate and think again.
