I would think it does no harm for the Saudis to be seen to be defending Muslim issues after being less than vocal last two years
What can India do to the Saudis? Nothing. Even Trump is careful dealing with Saudi Arabia.

My suspicion has been that the USA is at a stage where they have given enough pats on the back to India and need to get India to posture to china meaningfully
I don't know about that. On the contrary, there is some thawing of India-China relations.
the USA will give them space, things have come full circle and Pakistan is the reliable way to get under Indias skin, the whole world knows it

Pakistan is indeed 'Pennies on the Dollar' for America and China to get under India's skin. Poor India! Forget global superpower ambitions, can't even manage a much smaller and poorer neighbor next door.

Its not only Aljazeera. Arab populations have completely turned against India as it was the only country that blatantly supported, as well as celebrated Israeli genocide in Gaza. They all see India as a snake within sheep's skin. And yes, the coverage of India's anti Muslim behaviour is also adding into it. I personally had many Arab Businessmen and decision makers who tell me that they have stopped hiring Indians as they are not willing to support people who would not hesitate to kill them as well, they day they got the chance.

India is indeed a Two Faced nation! They had managed to fool Arabs by offering cosmetic support to the Palestinians but Indians couldn't hide their public support to Israel during the Gaza massacre--even the official India was seen too quick and too warm to embrace Netanyahu right after the October 2023 attack. Well, in the Information Age, such duplicity can't be hidden for long and now the Arab street knows that and knows the real face of India. Even some Western analysts for the first time noticed India's absence from the Global South when it came to the Gaza conflict.
PS. On a certain Indian forum recently, a question was asked which country is supportive of India right now against Pakistan. No country was mentioned except Israel! [But I think even Israelis right now don't want to be too hostile to Pakistan].

My point here is whatever Saudi is doing it's also for self interest and positioning itself as broker of all conflicts, better not to imagine more than that

But you are right India won't vocally speak against Saudi

You are correct they are thawing and that's totally useless for USA if they cultivated India for decades only for them to thaw on china

When the Bangladesh coup happened many in India said it was a cia coup, cia CIA

Eventually they reverted to type and blamed Pakistan anyway, but calling out the CIA felt out of character

My working hypothesis (aka bro science equivalent of grand strategy) is the environment is being shaped around India to make it feel like it has to embrace the USA in the way the uSA needs it to, so will ask for cooperation with uncle Sam, eventually is the hope

Recall that those foreign assassinations of Sikhs was really really unIndian ....it seems like India was trying to create a trust deficit between itself and the west.... I dunno, their whole media hype is no one is with us

Rather than coerce them directly, they want India to feel important so treat them nicely in open, but has encouraged other allies to pass a message on that makes India feel alone

That leaves room for the USA to ingress further ....be our ally

.

I think with that security of USA cover the pak diplomats are being offensive, the USA will give them space, things have come full circle and Pakistan is the reliable way to get under Indias skin, the whole world knows it

Finally, there have been clues, an important think tanker wrote the below (have a read, he is crafting India USA cooperation) and immediately I knew India will rediscover Pakistan because it has to, that's why the Ivt treaty drama allows them to provoke Pakistan

Or try this

You also have to consider that the world or the west at least made a mistake with China, they let China get too powerful and hold something over the west and now it's too late for them to beat china (they can only try)

India being 1.4 billion people, can turn out to be just as big a threat to the west in future and unlike the Chinese, the Indians have big mouths and constantly run their mouths about how great and powerful they are and how they are a superpower

No one trusts the Indians, not in south Asia
Not in the west
Not anywhere in the world

They can see the threat India can become and they see the need of a Pakistan that can counter and balance India and keep it under control

The world needs Pakistan to keep a gun pointed at Indians head and we are finding support from odd places because of this

India either needs to completely neutralise Pakistan (not possible)
Or it needs to bring Pakistan on side by giving up Kashmir and making a lasting peace and pushing a South Asia block against the world

Smaller, yes, poorer, not exactly. Our GDP would be higher than India's, if our population was extrapolated to theirs. So in per capita terms we are doing better than India. Also, India is 113th in 2023 Hunger Index, we were at 102. Meaning that India's people are also far more malnourished and poor.

China USA cooperation was not a mistake lol

It was intentional and this is not surprising to USA where china is now

I don't think the strategists see India as a threat, they need a considerable leg up for technology then look at the societal mess

in reality the south Asian person , all nations, are not considered a shaker and mover in anything much, not to be mean spirited

I think the west didn't see China as a peer competitor

They didn't think China would reach these heights

All they wanted was a place to mass produce cheap goods, and then they took their eye off the ball with the fall of the USSR, Iraq war, 9/11, Iraq war again and constant Israel crap and now Ukraine and more Israel crap

China just say back quietly laughing and getting on with thing's because the west allowed it too and now they are too late to really do anything about it

I don't think they will make the same mistake with India, mainly because their are so many options outside of India but also became they can see Indias delusions of grandeur, they can see the risk

Yes, for all its issues, China always contributed positively to the US in terms of economy and consumption.

What has India delivered ? West catered to them slightly and they response with terrorist killings in Canada and US, attack on a foreign Embassy in the UK, Jaishankar shouting at Europe without any etiquettes, support of Russia while they take over the lands of another sovereign country. The day Trump gets a trade deal with China, he is not gonna five a single fu** about India, neither will Europe and most other countries.

The West are surely not gonna stand for this nonsense of India. And India is not offering any strategic value. They are just fixated on Pakistan and have no allies in the region. China, Pakistan, Nepal Bangladesh, Srilanka, Maldives, Myanmar, every single country next to India is fed up of them, let alone the rest of the world.

Really?
Nah, India, under Modi, is emulating Netanyahu's Israel in many ways and one of those ways was assassinations on foreign soil and even gloating about those assassinations (as they did in case of Pakistan).
India punches way below its weight; I have said that multiple times on this forum. They are, frankly, quite stupid strategic thinkers even though I don't take away from their economic progress and the continuity of policies through their very flawed 'democracy'.

PM Narendra Modi is “Besharam”, “Darpok” and “Must Apologise” to India for Pahalgam: Satya Pal Malik
