Indian Missiles and Guided Munitions

Prithvi is liquid fuelled dud

Prithvi-III all later production models were solid fuel…
Earlier Prithvis 1/2 and early 3 models r plenty in numbers and liquid fuel.

And why does it matter when in next round these kind of mass missiles salvos will be required,

Given the challenges related to maintenance, safety, and reliability, it makes sense to move to newer missile systems and i was referring to older versions

At 200–300 km, rocket systems can now achieve the same operational effect through massed launches., exclude Nuclear bombs

I think u dont knw Prithvi-III are still actively deployed for strategic roles also, as per SIPRI almost 25+

So these will be maintained for long time

And if 25 are with nuke role easily conventional role will
Be given to atleast 4-5 X more …
So No way we can just scrap this capabilities ..

Pralay is better because its with MARV warhead and better precision…

Prithvi is good cause 1 ton conventional load and plenty to spend

Bro—we are not talking about Prithvi 2/3.

meant was - phase manners—starting from Prithvi 1, then moving to Prithvi 2 . etc.

It will take a decade from today to do so if we start today. Solid-fuel missiles are easier to produce and keep operational, which is why liquid-fuel missiles need to be replaced by solid-fuel missiles.

A better Tactical BM against chinese PHL-191 which @Shui was comparing Pinaka guided rockets with
You need to understand the difference between a SRBM to a modular MRLS system like HIMARS, they have totally different doctrine, you better compared that with DF-12, DF-15.

Here is what LLM says about two

Pralay: Its "Quasi-Ballistic" trajectory is its biggest asset. It stays low and maneuvers violently in the terminal phase. This makes it extremely hard for Chinese air defense systems (like the HQ-9) to lock onto and intercept.

PHL-191: When firing rockets, it relies on volume (saturation) to overwhelm defenses. When firing the "Fire Dragon" missile, it is dangerous, but reports suggest it lacks the advanced terminal weaving capability of the Pralay, making it theoretically easier for India's S-400 or MR-SAM systems to intercept.

I am not going to replied, do some proper search for a short range missile and a modular MRLS that can switch between rocket and tactical missile, you are comparing apple to orange, begin with don't use stupid AI.

As both of these are of comparable ranges and LLM says costs are also in same tier, I am not comparing the type but the lethality of missiles …

Both are launched in salvos, both offer similar range and costs r same also and both r employed in India-Tibet border

Its a single stage missile like the iskander..as compared to the hag prithvi was its better...seems like some change in propellent, quicker take off then the older pralays IMO...
also appart from the jet vanes it has movable base fins for movement after the motor burns out to glide it to the target(or follow quasi trajectory) like the iskander...praly.jpg

Its also one of the cheaper missiles in this range and unit cost will decrease more as production capacity increases … also it has extreme manoeuvrity high 30Gs

Pralaay cost v Brahmos
I hear brahmos is 3 million per Missle older version to 5 million for air launched and next generation longer range versions

We have over 1000 already with second factory opened during o per p Sindoor we are building 200 per year
Do we really need that many

I would build in smaller no's and look to build newer hypersonic versions instead

850 km version of Brahmos is around 7-8 million USD

500-700 km version of Pralay is around 2.5 million … and will cont to decrease with Production ramp up

Pralay touches almost 7 mach at terminal phase that qualifies as hypersonic
