Indian Missiles and Guided Munitions

I've done the research out of my own curiosity.

Fatah 2 is not based on any Chinese long range rocket/tactical ballistic missile which was previously a role for SRBM only.

Fatah 2 is basically Pakistan's own version of this class of weapon which includes things like Pralay, BRE-8 (aka Fire Dragon 480), BRE-11 (DF-12), SY-300/400, ATACMS. These are all roughly 300km to 450km ranged tactical ballistic missiles.

Fatah 2 is Pakistan's. It's that simple. It doesn't appear to be a copy of or license production of China's SY-300/400, DF-12/M20, BRE series or FD480 rockets. Nor the ultra long ranged versions of the WS and AR series from previous era.

I don't think even Russia has a weapon of this class. They just use Iskander which is a SRBM and not quite as mobile or flexible as tactical ballistic missiles despite having a bit more range and space for penetration aids.

So with Fatah 2, Pakistan has its own TBM and with Fatah 3, it's own supersonic land attack cruise missile. Pretty big step up for Pakistan considering it has not previously had these two weapon classes of its own production.
