So may private companies are now working and developing drones in india,

I remember, india was much behind on many fields but drone and missile technology, they really advanced much more recently. Hundreds of drone getting inducted which manufacturing by indian companies - before mostly reply on israel

Now most critical project is air to air missiles, Astra 2 with 160-180 km and Astra 3 with 300km ranges... Once get inducted along with AESA upgrade to su30 mki and other fighters, it will change to the next level.
