You can conjure all the rules you like, if law and order were actually a thing in Bharat, feral Hindu radicals wouldn't have a free license to raze heritage structures and rape left and right
Oppressed them more? There are literally sex slave castes out there. Entire communities of natives which have experienced multigenerational rape thanks to Sanatan.
Vile barbaric things like the institution of caste, the custom of outsourcing one's masculinity to a woman and setting her on fire, and cow fanaticism have existed alongside the thousands of years Sanatan virus has festered and mutated across South Asia and the Brahmin class gave their legendary gyaan. It's not a coincidence that UC Hindus only recently discovered basic human empathy. Little history lesson for you - the most authoritarian anti-Dalit state in South Asian was the Peshwa regime, run by elite Brahmin Hindus. Left to it's own devices, Sanatan reverts to apartheid and refuses to budge on its core principles surrounding impurity and heirarchy. This is why even after 80 years of democracy and majoritarian Hindu rule, politically, Indians are still frothing at their mouths over cows and the right to kill/rape for them.
