Indian Politics and Internal News

Not only in North India but in Mumbai also its very hot....
In goa and karnataka it was raining heavily 4 days back and due to that also it's further hot now.....
At least those areas get some breeze from the sea. Delhi is brutal!

Religious Discussions

PDF proudly maintains respect for all religions therefore; as PDF is primarily a defense and geopolitical forum, the management feels that, it is not the place for religious discussions. Kindly do not post religious threads nor respond to any and, please, refrain from using religion in arguments. It should be noted that ethnicity is different from religion, Muslims/ Hindu/ Christians are ethnicities and Islam / Hinduism / Christianity are religions. This also includes sectarianism as well; PDF is not the place to have a dialogue on religion. Violation of this rule would be considered serious as it often leads to issues based on religious / communal tensions.

=============================================

Members are advised to proceed in this thread with this in mind...and to edit/delete as required earlier violations. I have no time or interest to fine tooth comb that stuff as to where/what started it and why.

The next violation past this point (here and in threads like this after this), especially from known persistent culprits.... will get infraction measures on everything prior and accumulated so far with PDF admins.

Yes in the coastal areas you have that humidity and hit doesn't stay in the body due to sweating..... all coastal areas don't have that humidity and hence hit is beyond tolerance.....

Only been to the costal areas of Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Udupi, Goa and Mumbai. The heat was always manageable. Nothing like North India in May. Pluss delhi pollution makes it 10times worse.

Still would pick summers in punjab over winters. I'm from Norway and I swear I have frozen my butt more times in Punjab in December then here in Oslo!

That's really true..... in the snow you actually don't feel cold that much than the area that is without snow.... had visited Manali, simla outer areas where there was a snow but enjoyed it but whenever I used to return to city in my hotel where there was no snow I never wanted to leave my bed coz of cold.....

Pakistan's Punjab and South will be facing this as well by the looks of it.
Climate change an enemy.
Cities will have to be built to be climate resilient. Shaded streets from direct sunlight and more street trees, at a minimum.

Don't worry, down South we are getting summer rains. It'll eventually move up to Mumbai in a week or two.

This anyway is a watered down version of the original planned law. It had to go through the coalition govt.

Hopefully, amendments will be made in the future.

Oh bhai what a nonsense thread no? WTF is going on out west these days?

They also want not just muslims but all coluddz gone!

Like right now.......

Bewquff log......lol

Apparently climate change affects only India.

"lucky china".

That is the normal pattern in Indian due to our unique geography.

Excess heat creates low pressure that drives in the moisture from the sea and brings rain that cools down the temperature.

If we had more trees, that process would have been a lot faster.

  • Mob hacks to death two in West Bengal's Murshidabad amid fresh violence
  • Over 110 arrested for violence amid anti-Waqf Act protests, police raids ongoing
  • Mamata Banerjee says Waqf Act won't be enforced in Bengal, BJP targets Trinamool
Two people were hacked to death by a mob, while another person sustained injuries in West Bengal's Murshidabad amid fresh violence on Saturday, a day after widespread unrest during protests against the Waqf Amendment Act. Over 110 people have been arrested so far, with police raids continuing across multiple locations.

Amid the violent protests, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that the Waqf Amendment Act will not be enforced in the state, while the BJP has targeted the Trinamool Congress over the violence, also holding counter-protests.

MURSHIDABAD VIOLENCE | LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

  • A father and son were hacked to death by a violent mob in the remote Jafrabad area on Saturday after the village came under attack, police sources said.

  • In a separate incident, one person who sustained bullet injuries on Friday in the Samserganj area, succumbed to injuries. Police officials said their personnel were unlikely to be involved in the firing, suggesting that it “could possibly have come from the BSF,” as central forces had been deployed in the area to control the unrest.
  • So far, 118 people have been arrested in connection with the violence, and the number is expected to rise as raids continue, said Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Jawed Shamim. He urged people not to believe rumours circulating on social media and to maintain peace.

  • Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also appealed for calm and reiterated that the Act would not be implemented in West Bengal. She said the law was enacted by the Centre, and that questions should be directed to them.

"My sincere appeal to people of all religions, please remain calm, remain restrained. Do not engage in any irreligious behaviour in the name of religion. Every human life is precious; do not incite riots for the sake of politics,” she tweeted.

'We do not support this law,' Mamata Banerjee tweeted.
  • On Friday, widespread violence erupted across Malda, Murshidabad, South 24 Parganas, and Hooghly districts during protests against the new legislation. Several vehicles, including police vans, were set ablaze, stones were thrown at security forces, and roads were blocked.
  • The BJP slammed the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, urging it to seek assistance from the Centre if it was "incapable" of handling the law and order situation. Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari described the unrest as a “premeditated act of violence, an assault on democracy and governance by Jihadist forces,” rather than a protest.
  • Calcutta High Court has ordered the deployment of central forces in violence-hit areas after BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari approached the court requesting the same. Adhikari, in a letter to Ashwini Vaishnaw, also demanded that the investigation be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which probes terrorism-related cases.
  • BJP's West Bengal unit president Sukanta Majumdar alleged that internet and communication services had been suspended in the affected areas, leaving victims of the violence unable to share their grievances.
  • Meanwhile, Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien accused the BJP of “stoking the fires of communalism across various states” following the passage of the Waqf Bill “in the dead of night in Parliament.” In a post on X, he called it a “classic BJP-RSS playbook”.
  • Authorities said the situation is now under control, with the Border Security Force (BSF) assisting state police in maintaining order. A large contingent of security personnel has been deployed in sensitive areas, particularly around Jangipur, which the centre of violence.
