India's Counter After China Halted Its Bullet Train

Indians are going to counterattack China 😣. What should we do?😭

The so-called "indian" Chabahar port was also built with China equipment. The recent statue of Sardar patel was also build with Chinese imports.
Imports, imports, imports.
But we'll not only defeat China, but China and Pakistan combined, now Bangladesh is slowly being added to those fantasies.

Although I don't understand the logic, but I'm shocked.

The whole story apparently is India made a few payments on the tunnel boring machine but refused to make the last payment until delivery is made first (scam).

China knows this and said no of course not so India went around the world trying to see if they can scam someone else. A long time later they realised it was not possible so they made the last payment and China sent them the machines.

Dealing with these Indians is such a headache, no wonder even ex japanese PM called them liars.

Why do you always lie. The Germans themselves said their TBMs are facing difficulties clearing customs and are unnecessarily held at port. This is not a simple payment issue, the machines are already paid for to Germans. Herrenknecht is the supplier, and we paid them. Unfortunately they are made in their Guangzhou facility and require Chinese clearance.

Lying cheating, stealing IP, no honour for agreements. Anyway, thanks for these delays we get a new Herrenknect factory 😂

Brother. I heard that in Yiwu. If Indians don't pay the full amount, they won't deliver the goods to India. But in other countries, there's no such problem. Why?🤔

The title says "India's counter after China halted it's bullet train", not India's counterattack on China. I know you lot don't know english but this is against forum rules.

@Fatman17 take note.

It is about ban on export of Tunnel Boring Machines made by a German firm in China. Now Herrenknect makes some TBMs here and BEML is designing India's own Tunnel Boring Machine. This isn't some spicy "counterattack" fiction for weibo 50cents.

Only the Bronze cladding was Chinese origin. L post.

Huh? The topic is why Tunnel boring machines were stuck in China when it shouldn't have given the Germans were the ones selling it. No payment issues, these are government projects not some local vendor.

bro. The title is correct. But.Why does China only refuse to supply to the Indians, but other countries won't encounter this problem?

Diplomatic rivalry or political reasons, whatever it might be, what you claimed is false.

We all know that China is the world's largest manufacturer. But why don't other countries encounter this problem? Why is it only India that is rejected by China? India, what have you done?

India always scamming wanting delivery before payment:

The reported delay in delivering Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) from China to India for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project appears to have been caused by a combination of commercial, regulatory, and geopolitical factors.

Here is a breakdown of the main reasons reported in the media:

1. Unpaid Dues and Commercial Disputes

A primary and frequently cited reason for the delay was a commercial disagreement over payments. Reports indicate that the machines, manufactured by the German company Herrenknecht at its facility in Guangzhou, China, were ready for shipment but were held because the Indian side had not settled the outstanding balance. The manufacturer reportedly adhered to the contract, requiring the full payment to be cleared before the TBMs could be released from the port.

2. Delays with Export Clearance and Regulations

The machines were held up in part due to delays in obtaining the necessary export clearance from Chinese authorities. This was linked to China's updated export control regulations, specifically regarding "dual-use" items—goods and technologies that have both civilian and military applications. The TBMs contain sensitive technologies, such as rare-earth permanent magnet motors, which require special permits and detailed end-user documentation from the importer to ensure they are used only for civilian purposes. Reports suggest that the Indian side's initial documentation was incomplete, and the process to finalize it took time.

3. Geopolitical Tensions

The broader geopolitical context also played a significant role. The delay occurred against a backdrop of heightened tensions and diplomatic friction between India and China. Following border clashes in 2020, India imposed restrictions on Chinese firms bidding on government contracts, which created a challenging business environment and contributed to supply chain bottlenecks in various infrastructure projects. Many analysts and commentators view the delay in clearing the TBMs as directly linked to this strained relationship, with some describing it as a form of leverage in the ongoing geopolitical standoff.

The Resolution

The machines were eventually shipped and arrived in India in March 2026. This followed a period of diplomatic engagement and reported commercial resolutions, including India clearing the outstanding payments and finalizing the required compliance documents with Chinese authorities.

No. Other countries haven't encountered these issues. Because they cooperate honestly, pay diligently, and fulfill their obligations. So China won't refuse to supply them.

The TBMs aren't even of chinese origins, and if they were, our minister won't be scolding the german counterpart for their TBMs held hostage by chinese customs.

Whatever it is, it has forced Herrenknect to make more of TBMs here in India and BEML to design and develop a TBM of Indian origin.

Oh. So this is an issue between the Indians and the Germans. It's not our problem. Are you saying that the Germans haven't paid the final payment to China?🤣
