INKA completes 11 series of new generation trains ordered by KAI

Madiun (ANTARA) - PT Industri Kereta Api or PT INKA (Persero) has completed and delivered as many as 11
trainsets or a series of
new generation trains or new generation which is an order from PT KAI (Persero).
"A total of 11 series of trains consist of eight series of executive class (K1), two series of economy class (K3), and one mixed series consisting of four K1 "cars", five K3 cars, one dining car, and one generator train," said Senior Manager of Public Relations and Representative Office of PT INKA (Persero) Agung Dwi Cahyono in his statement in Madiun, Friday.
According to him, there are other trains that have also been completed by PT INKA (Persero) and have been sent to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), namely three
non-trainset cars, consisting of one dining car and two baggage train cars.
"Meanwhile, a series of 12
trainsets is entering the process of dynamic testing on the track. As for the next
trainset, it is still in the production process at the PT INKA Madiun factory," he said.
He explained that the production of the
new generation train series by PT INKA (Persero) was a manifestation of the dedication and hard work of the nation's children in providing the best train products.
"Of course, PT INKA is dedicated and continues to provide the best quality for Indonesian railway transportation. We also continue to coordinate with relevant stakeholders, in ensuring product quality through applicable testing stages. We hope that this
new generation train will be a manifestation of the development of railway transportation in Indonesia," he said.
Meanwhile, the advantages of the
new generation train cars made by INKA this time are quite significant when compared to the previous generation.
As in the economy class that has been used in the Majapahit train series, the capacity of carriages that used to reach 106 seats with a 3-2 formation and backrest perpendicular and facing each other, is now transformed into 72 ergonomic single seats with a 2-2 formation and of course much more flexible and comfortable for economy passengers.
Some features that can be enjoyed in various other classes, including
Digital Passenger Information & Display System, "Customer Service On Train" which is displayed in the form of digital train numbers, and digital seat numbers.
In addition, there is also
an estimated time of arrival (ETA), information on the last destination station, current station, and to be passed, information on the status of open or closed doors, status of toilet contents or empty, room temperature, seat rows, and officers' names and cellphone numbers.
In addition, the difference that is considered quite significant with the old version of the train car is the presence of automatic doors equipped with anti-trap. Automatic doors on
this new generation train include the entrance of the bordes as well as the entrance of the passenger room and the connection between trains.
New generation trains from PT INKA (Persero) have also been equipped with
"corrugated bellows" on the connections between trains.
"Thus, noise on the train can be better suppressed so that the journey will be safer and more comfortable for train passengers," he said.
