Intel growth reaches highest point in 15 years on surging AI demand

  • Intel Corp. saw revenue reach $16.1 billion in the second quarter, up 25% from a year ago, marking its strongest growth in more than 15 years, CEO Lip-Bu Tan said on an earnings call Thursday.
  • The growth came largely from Intel’s products for data center and artificial intelligence customers, which surged to $6.3 billion in revenue — up 59% from last year. At the same time, revenue improved by double-digits across its foundry division and client computing and physical AI group of products.
  • Tan said strong demand continued to outstrip Intel’s growing supply during the three months that ended June 27. The company raised its 2026 capital spending to more than $20 billion, up from a previous range of $17 billion to $18 billion, for continued investment in advanced manufacturing and packaging.
