Is Agha Salman managed by Saya Corp?
If yes, it’s a grim sign for Pakistan cricket. We might be staring at a repeat of the last World Cup fiasco early exit in the first round. When player selection is driven by past reputations instead of talent, current form and performance, it’s not just disappointing, it’s fatal for the team’s progress.

The “Dosti-Yari XI” Nawaz, Shadab, Faheem Ashraf, Saim, etc….continues to be recycled despite proven inefficiencies in the T20 format. Even Abrar Ahmad, though talented, seems out of touch with T20 demands. He should be replaced by a specialist spinner who’s in form and has delivered recent performances under pressure.

Have we forgotten the controversy leading up to the last T20 World Cup?
Saya Corp and other player agents allegedly pressured PCB with underhanded demands, while PR machines worked overtime to prop up Babar, Shaheen, and Rizwan, regardless of merit or performance. These three knowingly or unknowingly became central to the politics that fractured team balance.

Babar’s insistence on playing Shadab in every match, even when out of form, and benching capable performers like Abrar Ahmad. If similar patterns persist, Pakistan cricket will again be sabotaged from within not by opponents, but by its own management decisions and compromised leadership.

Cameron Green slapped a 47-ball century with Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh also blasting tons as Australia crushed South Africa by 276 runs in a record-breaking third and final one-day international on Sunday in Mackay.

The hosts were playing for pride, down 2-0 in the series, and responded magnificently, posting an ominous 431-2 after opting to bat — their highest ODI total on home soil.

They then dismissed the Proteas for 155 in the 25th over, with spinner Cooper Connolly taking 5-22.

Head was supreme in blazing 142 off 103 balls, ably supported by skipper Marsh (100 from 106).

Their 250-run platform at Great Barrier Reef Arena was Australia’s highest ever opening partnership against the Proteas, bettering the 170 by Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist in Durban in 2002.

HARARE: Zimbabwe quick Richard Ngarava took five wickets to skittle Afghanistan out for 159 in their second innings and win their one-off test by an innings and 73 runs midway through the third day on Wednesday.

Zimbabwe, who had only won one of their previous 17 tests, had dismissed the Afghanis for 127 in their first innings on the opening day on Monday and then amassed a 233-run lead as they replied with 359 with Ben Curran scoring a maiden test ton.

Afghanistan were 34-1 overnight but only opener Ibrahim Zadran (42) and Bahir Shah (32) showed any resistance at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday.

The pace proved the tourists’ undoing with Ngarava returning his best test figures of 5-37 in 13 overs while opening bowler Blessing Muzarabani contributed with 3-48.

Indian state minister and BJP politician Kailash Vijayvargiya has blamed the Australian women cricketers who were harassed and 'touched inappropriately' in Indore during the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, sparking widespread criticism and anger online.

The remarks came after a man was arrested for allegedly approaching two Australian players and touching them inappropriately while they were walking to a café from their hotel on Thursday — a day after Australia’s six-wicket win over England.

BBC's Geeta Pandey reported from New Delhi, Vijayvargiya called the episode “a lesson for both the authorities and the players,” suggesting that the athletes should have informed local administration before stepping out.

NEW DELHI: India's newest cricket star Jemimah Rodrigues overcame anxiety and tears to lead her country into the women's World Cup final with a sublime century against Australia.

The 25-year-old batter scored 127 not out as India chased down a record 339 at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium, securing a place in Sunday's final against South Africa.

India have been to the one-day final twice before but have never won it.

Rodrigues, who was dropped for the World Cup in 2022, said she has struggled mentally throughout the tournament.

She was not an automatic choice for this edition and was even dropped from the league game against England after a string of modest scores.

"I have almost cried every day through this tour," Rodrigues said after the semi-final victory on Thursday in her home city, breaking down.

"Not doing well mentally, going through anxiety. I knew I had to show up and God took care of everything," said the batter, after her third ODI century.

A devout Christian born in Mumbai, Rodrigues said she was told just five minutes before the match to bat at number three.

She responded with what she called her "best knock ever", forging a 167-run partnership with captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who made 89.

Harmanpreet fell in the 36th over but Rodrigues stood firm in humid conditions, pausing in between and even talking to herself during the 134-ball marathon.

"I was praying, I was talking to God because I feel I have a personal relationship with him and when I cannot carry myself, he always carries me," Rodrigues said.

"I knew how important this match was and I wanted to be there to finish it off."

Spinner Simon Harmer took six wickets as South Africa thrashed India by 408 runs in the second Test on Wednesday to sweep the series and condemn the hosts to a record loss.

It was South Africa’s first series win in India in 25 years, after bowling the home team out for a dismal 140 in a mammoth chase of 549 on day five in Guwahati.

India suffered their biggest Test defeat by runs and a fifth loss in seven home Tests, having been whitewashed 3-0 by New Zealand last year.

Off-spinner Harmer, 36, returned figures of 6-37 as South Africa clinched a Test series in India for only the second time, the first in 2000 under Hansie Cronje.

“Winning a Test match and series in India is very special,” said left-arm quick Marco Jansen, who returned figures of 6-48 in India’s first innings after smashing a quickfire 93 with the bat.

Jansen, named player of the match, added: “Very well done to everyone for putting their hand up and making this happen.”

India lost the opening Test in Kolkata inside three days on a pitch with uneven bounce before South Africa once again beat the hosts in their own game of spin on a batting-friendly track.
