It also means you don’t know what’s already real and what isn’t, so if you’re a hostile country you’re constantly guessing

I reckon the projects making it to physical mock-up or even scaled model stage are real and driven by our tri-services requirement(s). So, we'll eventually see a homegrown AAM, SAM, etc., enter service because there's now a need for those.

OTOH, this attempt at our own MBDA SPEAR could be more of a concept or proposal. It is interesting that they'd go public with such a thing though. Perhaps this is an attempt to start attracting foreign money to develop new projects.

If so, then it reflects NESCOM's wider push to commercialize. They've spun up new brands like Stingray Technologies, Qaswa Industries, etc. These may be the conduits to draw and channel foreign funding towards different projects.
