International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS)

PAF has been on the hunt for a IIR BVR for decades - looks like they will finally get what they need.

Not sure what you mean by "brown stencils == tested and cleared for operations/export" given there has been no word on test firings anywhere for these missiles.
Both versions have been tested successfully several times by the OEM/ user.

probably won't be sold regrettably.

So our new policy for strike platforms is, "does it fly? Then yes".
its obviously a new AShM, hence it has a booster option, will probably equip ships

doubt.

This is a russian doctrine, the PAF is modelled after NATO, never has there been such a desire.

The reason FAAZ IIR exists in its current form because its easier to slap a seeker on a existing missile than redevelop a new one for this role, especially considering what faaz likely is- i.e just a research exercise/proof of concept

The unveiling of the Ground Control Station (GCS) and operational setup for Pakistan's Shahpar III HALE UAV at IDEAS 2024 is a significant step forward for Pakistan's defense capabilities. The Shahpar III, developed by Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS), represents the country's strides in indigenous unmanned combat and surveillance technologies.

Key Highlights of the Shahpar III and its GCS:

  1. HALE Class Performance:
    • High-Altitude, Long-Endurance (HALE): Capable of prolonged operations at high altitudes, making it ideal for border surveillance, intelligence gathering, and strike missions.
    • Armed with precision-guided munitions, offering both reconnaissance and combat capabilities.
  2. Advanced Ground Control Station:
    • Flight Control Console: Enables real-time UAV flight management, ensuring smooth operations over extended ranges.
    • Operations Console: Equipped for monitoring battlefield data, targeting, and mission planning.
    • Secure communication channels for live feed transmission and encrypted command inputs.
  3. Strategic Importance for Pakistan:
    • Enhances Pakistan’s ability to maintain situational awareness over sensitive regions, including border areas and maritime zones.
    • Strengthens Pakistan's ability to counter modern threats, especially in asymmetric warfare and counterterrorism operations.
    • Provides a deterrence capability against adversarial UAV systems.
The Shahpar III is poised to compete with similar UAVs globally, potentially expanding Pakistan's defense export portfolio while addressing its own strategic needs. Its debut at IDEAS 2024 underscores Pakistan’s focus on innovation and self-reliance in defense production.

Instead of slapping names on already known vehicles and calling them indigenous... Why tf haven't these shown up in IDEAS ??? Seems to be a better achievement than name plate manufacturing.... Seriously just privatize HIT at this point...
