Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir visited the ongoing IDEAS 2024 defence exhibition at the Expo Centre in Karachi, lauding the active participation of friendly nations, the military's media wing, ISPR, stated on Wednesday.
During his visit, General Munir engaged with foreign military officials and defence delegates attending the event. He commended the efforts of international defence manufacturers for showcasing their innovations and fostering collaboration.
Earlier, the COAS was warmly received upon arrival by Corps Commander Karachi, Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar.
According to ISPR, a total of 557 exhibitors are participating in the exhibition, including 333 international companies. Defence manufacturers from 36 countries have set up stalls, with 17 of these nations participating for the first time.

It has laser seeker, which mean it is still laser guided but not wire guided. Omtas is not laser guided but thermal guided (can also be fired in fire and forget mode)

Existing infrastructure being advertised because wind-tunnel time is quite valuable - however, our wind-tunnels suffer from lack of accurate enough instrumentation. This is primarily because all our orgs are blacklisted and can't import crap. Also the SPD scorty prevents almost anyone from actually using these since they cause so many problems. If a non SPD commercial entity was spun up that wasn't blacklisted, maybe they could improve the instrumentation in these WTs to world standard and we could earn lots of money selling WT time.

The quality of the mockups is SO bad. Compare the video where you can clearly see that the wings are supposed to fold out since these are all tube-launched munitions but the mockups were made by baala denter - fixed wings.
