IPP vs Diemer Basha Dam, some shocking discoveries

Dams are not just needed for power production but for water security. If i remember, National water reserve is for 18 days only. With climate variations, sometimes we are not getting rain for months. Global standard for countries is to have 3 to 6 months of your water needs stored.

The public recognizes the value of solar power. Investing in rooftop solar over expensive grid electricity is an obvious choice today. Even if the Pakistani government imposes burdensome regulations, citizens will inevitably adapt and overcome.

government is betting too much on solar for which it did nothing. Not even spend a single rupee from its pocket. It was supposed to do it but instead it forced the consumers to go and seek solar as an option.

And now they won't even built the dams. So why we need government then ?

If government realized the benefits of solar, then they should show us those multi-gigawatt solar power projects government initiated backed by batteries to store many gigawatts during day to be consumed at night.

The people have completely bypassed the Pakistani government. Is that impacting the grid, absolutely. That is a problem for the government to solve.

@K2RULEZ

Dalit bro,

With battery storage becoming cheaper, citizens and small businesses can bypass the govt owned grid altogether. Once the citizens produce and consume all power outside the grid, they cannot even be harassed by arbitrarily changing the net metering rules.
