The states are not distracted. They would be if this was some massive ground invasion against a competent force. USA has plenty of assets to take on China while they take on a defenseless Iran.

If they actually feel comfortable flying them over Iran it means they have truly decimated Iranian AD.

B-52s, B-1s, and B-2s have been rotating in and out of Diego Garcia on a regular basis.

I'd have to do some hunting to confirm; believe the B-52s have been there for a few weeks now or longer.
