Khamenei not going nuclear when Iran had the capability achieved decades back is a crime no one will forget easily. He is the killer of Iranian strategic deterence esp when we know he has the absolute power in Iran.

I am not Iranian, so you have a better understanding of the situation and your opinion is more valid than mine.

However, as a third person observer, I think the calculus hKhamenei ran with is that if Iran can demonstrate that it will not fully develop a nuclear program whereas run a civilian nuclear power program as a contingency would be the best option for Iran. The civilian program will ensure Iran maintains a human capital and basic infrastructure for a nuclear program for a bomb in the reserve. This was his mistake. We now live in a no-rules world. Iran perhaps didn't anticipate this.

I am ashamed he comes from my ethnicity. We were supposed to be the sword of Iran, the protector of our noble land for centuries. The weakest of our kind is running Iran.

Please don't immediately capitulate, wait and see if iran, having put pressure, can broker something with trump, even forfeiting enrichment, then rebuild the country (it's not crippled as are syria, Iraq, yemen or lebanon) then turn to the east and invest on Asia's growth.

I am extremely sceptic of the vailidity of this. I dont trust tweets.
But at face value, its a move that would make sense, actually would make A LOT of sense. Irans existence is in jeopardy and the ultimate deterrent is inevitable of you are a rational actor when your state is endangered.

But Khamenei going for the nukes would defy his own stupid fatwa. So he he wants to free himself of this responsbility. Either that, or he is being forced by the IRGC, which would constitute a military takeover/coup (which Iran BADLY needs at this very dangerous hour).

Again even without a source out there to prove I think every short range missile artillery cruise missiles and everything in between is pointed at bases and ships if they do attack Iran which I’m hoping they don’t it would be far easier for Iran to destroy ships and bases next to them that’s if trump is stupid enough to fall for Israeli baiting
