In general American policy and not specifically related to the current events in regards to Iran.
America believes it can contain China to eventually win a near peer war against the Middle Kingdom. This was the basis of my initial sarcastic argument.
I'd truly hoped that my sarcasm was improving and coming across as intended. Apparently not! As they say concerning jokes. If you have to explain it to your audience then it means that it probably wasn't any good.

Someone has to convince Iran to de-escalate. That is not a pretty job at the moment but immediate ceasefire is imperative before elemental momentum of war cannot be reversed.

It's a dire dire situation as nuclear threshold is fast approaching.

Can't be because the Israeli FIR is very tightly controlled - if it were an aircraft it will be military - but we are all guessing here.

Asking Iran to deescalate is the same as asking them to surrender.

Israel started this, Iran's only condition to a ceasefire is that Israel stop bombing them.

That's a logical prerequisite before asking Iran to de-escalate. Regardless even if the entity stops her aggression, the damage already caused has the Iranian temper red hot. So many red lines have been crossed in the conflict that it is difficult to set foundational lines for diplomacy.

The fog of war is inviting non state actors and risk a world war. Pakistani government's desperation is likely hinting towards a bleak future and a major escalation.
