Mainly because of the GBU-57 bomb that can only be deployed by the B-2. Pentagon officials believe it can do the job and they probably know their stuff.

Plus they will probably bombard it with 2 - 4. There's a high chance it succeeds it's not a small bomb.

My optimistic theory is the US needs to give the perception that they used some real heavy weight toys, and then hopefully there is some consensus on a mutual off-ramp for everyone, with some careful wording that means Iran does not have to cede or cease it's nuclear program but it is understood to be degraded


That's assuming of course Iran is in the mood, they said a few hours ago they have no interest in negotiations

Apparently the Americans will have to consistently go in and out in and out with bombing raids

I wonder then if the Chinese might be interested to have a look more closely

The B-52 is also capable of deploying it. That is public knowledge.

You will not see B-52s over Fordow.
