Iran’s biggest folly is not investing in a strong and modern airforce. Israel and USA have clear air superiority over Iran’s airspace. They can do anything they want and have delivered a devastating blow to whatever nuclear assets lran had.
As far as USA is concerned "Mission Accomplished ".

Genuine question, what kind of aircraft were available for Iran to purchase while having an arms embargo? What kind of jets could they realistically have bought which could’ve withstood against the combined might of US and Israel without getting wiped out? I think a strong airforce would’ve helped initially, but the end result would’ve been the same. Remember Irans AD was sabotaged before any airstrikes by collaborators and infiltrators.

Irans missile force is very good, and would’ve been sufficient for the PG area and Israel but they lacked the most important deterrent which was a nuclear arsenal.

Those of us in China are usually exposed to secularized Muslims such as Hui, Uyghurs, Malaysians, Pakistanis, and so on. We should not imagine Iranians with the same image we have of these secularized Muslims.

Iranians have never been able to clearly recognize their place in the world, and are always full of the arrogance of white people against colored people, and religious people against atheists. They even see the Chinese as pawns to be used by them like Hamas, Hezbollah in Lebanon.

We can help them, but we must make them wake up and see the cruelty of the world clearly.

They must first understand one thing, that there will never be a lack of choices for a country like China, and it doesn't have to be Iran.

Of course, everyone put their own national interests at first.

But we will teach them to understand that the westernized thinking/development is not working anymore.

Because we do deeply understand how the westernization will eventually turn everything against you, including your own identity.

President Xi just manages to put down those pro-west factions.

Otherwise, do you think that China can stand that firmly against the US backed by the entire western alliance?

Iran has never experienced the type of development we had, of course they would have the lack of understanding toward the westernization and fell into that trap.

China’s not going to get into a direct fight with the U.S. It might quietly back Iran in some ways, but overall, China’s more focused on taking the lead economically, not through war or weapons.

Guys, the bottom line is, that for Decades, the US and the West have excelled at Science, Tech, Finance and Military. While they build 27 Kms long Large Hadron Collider beneath Switzerland to achieve Quantum tech, we Muslims have spent that time in arguing which sect is right/wrong or who can build the tallest skyscrapers

I am an astrophysicist and I know for a fact that in Europe alone, there are 12,000 open public observatories where people can go and study space, free of charge, let alone the high tech ones that are all across the globe. Meanwhile there is not a single observatory in any Muslim country. Not a single one in even the richest of gulf states. When I take images of space, its littered with thousands of satellites trails (12,900 total), to the point that we now have to use special software to clean off the satellite trails from images of deep space, meanwhile all Muslim countries combined, have a total of 60 satellites (that they sent through help of others). Its the same in almost every advanced field. That is the state of our affairs.

We collect the tech they have thrown away since 2 Decades and hope to fight them off in wild scenarios. Today a single B2 can come undetected, in all weather conditions and throw 6 Bunker Bursters within 5 feet accuracy, from 50,000 Feet in the air leave, warning us not to fight back or more will come in a similar way. They have already long beaten us by throwing us into greed and internal conflict for decades. Now they are just asserting their rule and we are slowly being slapped back into reality.

Imagining what Iran can do, is good to Cope, but that's abut it. We need a long term, forward looking change in our societies, from here onwards, to move ahead and build real power if we hope to throw off this colonialism. That's about it.

Good post, and most of it applies to India and many other non-Muslim countries as well. Our nations will not get anywhere without doing the hard work of building a very large scientific, engineering and industrial ecosystem.
