This symbolic attack could have two objectives, a warning to countries hosting US bases and an attempt to increase the price of oil barrel.

I think this is dis-escalation by Iran. Like similar one Iran did after murder of general Solemani. All sides were informed. To show Iran has retaliated this attack was done on 6 empty US bases in Qatar . Everyone knew the attack was coming that’s how they were ready to shoot down Iranian missiles quickly. It is not about "trusting". Each episode has a start and an end. This is where the off-ramp comes in. It has nothing to do with trusting. If both sides are looking for an off-ramp, they will take it. It does not mean US enmity towards Iran and the other way around, stops. It just means one chapter is done with and on to the next one.

No. Even if US agreed to let Iran attack Al-Udeid, IRI shouldn’t have done it. Because US is always planning and plotting. What if it’s a scheme to get GCC to join the war? Or to get more support for full invasion?
